Quashonda Danielle Patterson

The life and legacy of Quashonda Danielle Patterson, affectionately known to many as "Shonda", began on June 16, 1986, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, NC. She was the daughter of the late Ervin June and Janice Louise Patterson. 

On Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at the tender age of thirty-four, this world lost a virtuous woman with a kind spirit and infectious smile, she will be forever missed. We give thanks to our Lord and Savior for her time with us.

Shonda gained her education within Gaston County School System and later became a graduate of Ashbrook High School in Gastonia, NC. She was an active member of Weeping Mary Baptist Church in Bowling Green, SC where she served under the leadership of Pastor RLM. She was proud of her Weeping Mary family and was always willing to serve in many roles. She was employed in the food and hospitality industry where here radiant personality and gracious smile could be seen by many.

She loved being with family and friends and she was most proud of her loving daughter Jakhia Matthews. Shonda and Jakhia were the best of friends and shared an amazing mother and daughter bond. This mother and daughter duo were known to many as “The Glam Squad”. When they were not enjoying laughing and recording Tik Tok videos, you could find them having their nails and feet done and expressing their stylish fashions. Shonda had a unique gift of nurturing and caring for others. The love she gave is what guided, shaped, and sustained her throughout her life as many have been blessed, to experience the love that she gave so selflessly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin June and Janice Louise Patterson.

She is survived by her daughter; Jakhia Matthews, sisters; Brittany Patterson, Angela June, Tabitha Murray and Vanita Wilson, godson; Jarkevious De’shawn Lattimore.
