Miriam Laverne (Davis) Scott

Miriam Laverne Davis-Scott was born on September 6, 1957, at Manhattan Women's Hospital in New York. Born and raised In the 'Boogey Down' Bronx, Miriam attended the local Public Schools until the age of 14 when the family moved to Queens, NY.

Following her mother, Elizabeth, Miriam moved from New York to Charlotte, NC with her sons. In the early 1990's Miriam and Robert, whom she met while in NY, were united in holy matrimony in NC. They were together for many years before their separation, but they continued to remain friends.

Miriam supported herself for several years working at several jobs including her favorite as a server/cook at the Open Kitchen Restaurant. Miriam left her job and became the caregiver for her mother until her passing in February 2022.

Miriam enjoyed being a caregiver to others and with the help of a dear family friend, she was able to continue her passion of working with others and providing them with good care.

Predeceased in death by her parents, Rufus O. Davis and Elizabeth Smith Davis and brother, Reginald O. Davis.

Miriam will be forever loved by her children - Divine Davis (Reba Davis) & Allah Headley, sisters; Sherrill Davis and Carolyn Davis, uncle; William Smith (Delores 'Bonnie' Smith) & aunt; Dorothy M. Davis Howard, nieces; Tianika, Shanetta, Rene and Cuyana, nephew; Kimani Davis, 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins and friends.
