Martin Luther King Washington affectionately, known to many family and friends as "Chance", was born on May 22, 1974 in Brooklyn NY to the late Kenneth James and Martha Lee Washington. Martin is a loving husband to Crystal Simmons-Washington and father to five beautiful children.
Martin gained his early education
at P.S. 41, he became a proud graduate of Martin Luther King Jr. Highschool in NY, NY and later furthered his education as a senior, Highschool graduate. At an early age, Martin began his Christian experience at Brownsville Community Baptist Church under the leadership of the Late Rev. Harold Burton, Sr., where he served on the Junior Choir and the Junior Usher Board.
Martin was designed with a unique personality, which made him tailor-made. His uniqueness was what made him able to connect with such a diverse circle of friends. Family and friends may describe him as quiet and reserved most times, but once he warmed up to you, you were guaranteed to meet "Chance".
"Chance" understood the meaning of hard work and made all in his presence felt cared for and protected. Hard-work and caring for his family brought him so much joy. He is known for being a motivator with a witty sense of humor and he brought cheer to all who knew him. His legacy of LOVE will be remembered fondly.
"Chance" was a team member with Take 5 Carwash and Holiday Inn Express here in Charlotte, NC. He also was an entrepreneur alongside his brother Tracey at "The Touch Detailing" he enjoyed detailing
cars and he was a pro at it.
"Chance's" life was rich and meaningful. He left a positive impact on those around him and his dedication to family, work, and his unique personality are truly admirable. We give thanks to our Lord and Savior for his time with us. Martin "Chance" Luther King Washington, you are loved by many and will be greatly missed!
