Kenneth Williams Obituary

Kenneth Edward Williams,
his legacy
began on April 20, 1948 in Gastonia, NC. Kenneth was the loving husband of wife, Paulette Williams of fifty-one years and the son of the late Amos Williams, Sr. and Mattie Crawford Williams. On Thursday, April 14, 2022 at the age of seventy-three, he returned home to his Lord and Savior and will forever be missed.

Kenneth was a graduate of Reid High School (Class of 1966) and later attended Kings College.  He served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968, as a proud Veteran. He was honorably discharged after serving in Vietnam and earning several medals of honor.

Kenneth knew the power of prayer, a faithful servant and a lover of Christ. He joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Bowling Green, SC at an early age.  After joining Center Baptist Church, he faithfully served on the Deacons Ministry, Senior on the Move Ministry, Brotherhood Ministry, Men’s Choir and the Worship Choir.

Kenneth’s natural leadership led him to a passion for baseball, after playing for the Stateline baseball team, led him to coaching baseball. He always found a way to create a special bond with all of the athletes he coached along the way. Kenneth “Coach Kent” Williams was well respected amongst the Westpark Little League playersthat he invested in. His legacy will live on forever through his great teachings.

Kenneth was a lover of music with an amazing gift to carry a tune. In addition to his love for singing the gospel, he devoted a portion of his time listening to Old School R & B.If he loved a song, then you had no choice but to love the song too. He loved, the Temptations, the Four Tops, Isley Brothers, Rance Allen and the gospel quartet group of Lee Williams and the Williams Brothers, the list goes on. Music brought him much peace and comfort.

In addition to his many interests, he took immense pride in his restoring and customizing his classic vehicle collection.Kenneth will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
