Jessica Lynn Carlton

Jessica Lynn Carlton passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the age of 37. She was born in Charlotte, NC on December 3, 1985 and was the daughter of the late Randy Thomas Carlton and Donna Lynn Sutton-Carlton.

She is survived by her loving family, Richard Eugene Hancock, children; Cody Hancock and Cassidy "Cassy" Hancock, sister; Krissy Carlton, and a host of relatives and friends. 

Jessica was vibrant like her favorite color pink. Those close to her would describe her as optimistic, lover of freedom, hilarious, spontaneous, fun, lots of friends, and the best conversationalists. At times Jessica's vibrant personality could become easily bored so being adventurous, outgoing and keeping a diverse circle is what kept her positive and craving the best for others and a more fulfilling life for herself, even through tough times. Jessica gained her early education within Mecklenburg County Schools. Jessica never knew a stranger and would always make everyone feel welcomed. Anyone that truly knew her, knew she had such a big heart which provided a safe space for others to feel comfortable. She loved fiercely and deeply. We now take comfort in knowing that Jessica is finally resting and at peace surrounded by light.
